Bill Shields has been involved with all aspects of construction, risk management and insurance for over 40 years. His career started as a journeyman ironworker having worked on many of the high rise buildings that dot the beautiful Boston skyline. After falling three stories Bill's career became focused on construction safety as he became the Corporate Risk Manager for The Modern Continental Construction Company. After spending eleven years as the Risk Manager at Modern Continental Bill moved to the insurance and risk management field as the New England Regional Manager for Nobel Insurance working with explosive and demolition contractors throughout the United States and the Caribbean Islands. Bill holds an unrestricted blasters license in the Commonwelth of Massachusetts. In 2005 Bill and his wife Maria formed the Shields & Associates Insurance Agency which was located in Winchester, MA. In 2011 they sold their agency and Bill joined HUB International as a Vice President in their construction insurance department. An avid writer, bill is the author of The Farewell Christmas a memoire about his Naval Aviator brother Jackie who returned home for a merorable Christmas in 1956. He is his curretly writing the screen play which directly relates to the book.
