Washington Jesuit Academy (WJA) is a tuition-free, independent middle school for boys from low-income communities throughout the Washington, DC region. We leverage an 11-hour school day, 11-month academic year, dedicated teachers, and rigorous learning environment where the idea of dropping out is not an option. We believe that by catching our students in the vulnerable middle school years, and preparing them to succeed academically in high school, college, and career, that they will be empowered to break the cycles of failure and poverty.* Transitioned to new role of Founder with a focus on strategic initiatives, alumni support programs, outreach within the broader community, and philanthropic growth.* Plan, prepare for, and execute a $25mm capital campaign to secure the future sustainability and growth of WJA.* Work with Head of School on implementation of Development Audit to realize recommended strategies and talent.* In collaboration with Office of Student & Alumni Support, continue to expand programs that support WJA graduates.* Work with Board of Directors, its Chair, and its committees in carrying out established school policies; review policies and make recommendations for change; attend meetings, prepare reports, maintain Board records, keep trustees informed on all aspects of the school’s operations* Work with Governance Committee & Board of Directors to identify, recruit, and orient new members.* Work with Head of School to implement Bellwether Feasibility Study recommendations.
