I think Small Medium Enterprises are the quiet achievers of our economy. They are human scale enterprises that tend to deliver both economic benefits while being places people want to work. We have an opportunity to develop the infrastructure to make them flourish and make them central to our economic futures. Imagine an economy centred on distributing small innovative businesses. A place where "small is beautiful" displaces "big is best". In Australia we have around 3 trillion dollars in our superannuation system. Imagine if we could build the infrastructure that allowed a third of this to get to long term patient capital SME's.
