As CIO of Fixed Income at Putnam Investments I am responsible for overall strategy and positioning of Putnam's fixed income products. I serve as a portfolio manager for Putnam's multi-sector and unconstrained strategies, including the Fixed Income Global Alpha institutional products. I continue to maintain direct management oversight of the Portfolio Construction team, which draws on the security-specific expertise of all sector specialist teams within Fixed Income. A long tenure as a global bond manager includes first-hand experience navigating structural market shifts, like the development of the European Union and the emergence of the Brady Bond market, as well as significant market events like the collapse of Long Term Capital Management or the global market disruption of 2008.Operational duties include working with various specialist teams to manage and integrate disparate elements of various fixed income sectors - term, currency, credit, structure, and liquidity - through a rigorous and disciplined portfolio construction process. My wife and I also own Wellesley Books, an independent book store, where you can sometimes find me behind the register on Sunday afternoons.
