Current- Lead and manage enterprise-wide IT projects; oversee IT budget, including capital projects, for publisher and printer of a group of 6 regional newspapers--in publication for over 100 years with a readership of over 99,000--subsidiary of a large media group.- Directly supervise a staff of five.- Designed and led the conversion to a network upgrade: uptime improved to 99% (from 85%) and group realized very significant annual cost savings.- Oversaw installation of enterprise-wide accounting and sales system upgrades. Optimized new capability by developing data for senior management using Crystal Reports. Enabled improved decision making in all areas, including sales and operations. Automated several needed reports to be available on a daily basis.- Headed up the conversion of the subscriber billing function to a new vendor which resulted in greater efficiency and marked cost savings--averaging 40% annually.- Directed and facilitated the installation of a new phone system and training of staff. In-house staff were able to handle most maintenance, greatly reducing the expense of vendor support.
