Developed new client services in information technology and management consulting for this multinational engineering consultancy. Provided global leadership and vision that converted a back office project delivery resource into a market-facing new business unit. Staff grew by a factor of 8, revenues grew to $25 million, and in my last year we out-performed the firm's traditional business units in key metrics: project delivery performance and net contribution as a percent of revenues. I launched a new consulting practice within a $1B environmental engineering consultancy by recruiting and managing a small team of industrial and chemical engineers and developing quantitative modeling tools. Supported the sales effort to win major contracts in life cycle environmental modeling of industrial systems, quadrupling the revenues of the business unit that sponsored me. Clients included Toyota, Ford, GM and Chrysler, and the leading players in the aluminum, plastics and steel industries. It was great technology and exciting emerging methodology, and intensely political and calculated.
