www.nextactfp.com We have a crisis in our society that we will all need to confront eventually, either directly or indirectly. Our patchwork healthcare system doesn’t know how to provide for the needs of our aging population. My wife and I have lived through this “confrontation” four times now, as we’ve dealt with the care needs brought on by the deteriorating health of an aunt, an uncle, and two parents under very different circumstances. When first faced with health needs beyond what we or other family members could provide, we did what seems to come naturally for most of us. We sought to meet the immediate needs, with no real plan or understanding of what was coming next. “What’s the next stage we have to be prepared for?” To be fair, we asked the question, but we didn’t know where to begin to find the answer. Elder law attorneys, social workers, the VNA, home care providers, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities - all gave us partial answers with many confusing details. Our mission is to provide education, financial planning, and ongoing support to families & individuals confronting the aging process, while trying to understand the confusing mix of supports available to them. * Let’s understand the continuum of services available as we, and those around us, age.* What are the “ins & outs” of Medicare vs Medicaid and their realistic impact on Long Term Care?* Which funding strategies are best for your specific situation, goals, and personal preferences?* When should you involve an Elder Law Attorney, Social Worker, Psychologist, or a Geriatric Care Manager?Jumping in to “fill the gap” of care in our medical system for the people you care about is not the “final answer”, and many times isn’t healthy for you or them. Let’s make a better plan for you, and let’s make a better plan for the one you care about.
