Retired from Transocean and working as a self employed Marine consultant, Marine accident/incident investigator, drilling package consultant, working closely with ADC in Aberdeen on a day rate consultancy contract. Same with LOC and GM in London getting installed on their freelance surveyors database, again doing marine inspections and the added task of marine rep during rig moves. I also have carried out DP annual trials, and DP officers certification audits with ADC on Ocean rig 5th Gen. semis the Eirik Raude, and Leif Errikson. Just completed yet another rig move as tow master, have moved the Ocean Gaurdian, Ocean Valiant, and now the Ocean Patriot, all jobs signed off as excellent.

Was responsible for the onboard training of the fire teams and the deck crews training in lifting techniques and working with cranes.Collated and authored a deck lifting hand book for Exxon Mobil Nigeria.

Working in the shipyards in the USA as a project acceptance Tech. i would accept and document the changes that were made to rigs ballast and anchor systems on behalf of Reading and bates. I would witness and sign off on the commissioning and acceptance trials before the rig was handed over to the rig crew prior to leaving the shipyard.I would witness and sign off on anchor chain pull tests results prior to the chain being delivered to the rig, i would then oversee the installation of the chain, and anchors.

Maintaining the daily stability of the vessel, collating daily ROB figures for Fuel Oil, Pot water, Drill water, and any drilling chemicals on the rig.During rig moves i would be at the anchor winches either setting or pulling anchors as required. During tow, collate distance to go, current heading, ROB fuel Oil for rig and attending AHV's.

North Sea

Worked in the North Sea for the first 10 years of my career, on the semi's Henry Goodrich, Sonat Rather, PBLJ, and latterly the John Shaw.Joined the company as a roustie straight from the Royal Navy (12 years). worked upto derrickhand but got fed up with the same routine every shift so migrated into the marine side and been here ever since.
