Bill Stinger is the director of marketing for HOK’s Washington, DC, office. He serves as principal-in-charge for several international projects and is a member of the firm’s marketing board. In more than 35 years with HOK, he has served in the firm’s San Francisco, London and Washington, DC, offices. Mr. Stinger has more than 40 years of professional experience in landscape architecture, architectural design, planning, and interior design for complex, large-scale projects both in the United States and overseas- with a particular focus in the Middle East and Northern Africa. From 1979 to 1983, Mr. Stinger resided in Doha, Qatar, where he served as Senior Planner, developing a Master Plan for the New District of Doha. The plan set the framework and guided development for an extension of the capital city to serve 60,000 residents. Mr. Stinger also resided in London, UK for five years, where he was one of three leaders to build HOK’s European practice. He has been responsible for landscape architecture, new town planning, urban design and mixed land use development for several international and domestic projects and has worked with many different clients, including private developers; local, state and federal governmental agencies; and foreign ministries and governments.Bill holds a "secret" security clearance from the US Government, and has been Principal in Charge of eleven US Embassy projects in multitude of locations worldwide.Bill has been a guest speaker at the Virginia Tech School of Architecture + Design and Penn State Stuckeman School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
