Challenged to lead a turnaround for the company upon initial hire (acquired 50% of the company’s stock in 9/2006), as well as navigating it through a rapid decline due to the economic recession of 2008-2010.☑ Played key role in growing the overall company from a 7-figure total in 2010 to an 8-figure total in 2017, as well as achieving an average EBITDA of 14.7% from 2009 to 2017 (employee count grew from 75 to 165).☑ Expanded the company from 1 to 3 entities (sub-S corporation and 2 LLCs), along with growing the company’s footprint from 9 states to nationwide; increased the number of fraud filings by over 650% from 2013 to 2017.☑ Opened SIU Management in 2010 to handle embedded SIU programs, growing the company from a start-up to a 7-figure annual revenue total (including the opening and closing of ~2,500 investigations in the first full year of operation (up to 19,000 annually by 2017).☑ Managed a vendor panel of 48 private investigative companies for the company’s largest client, overseeing the vetting, selection, and tracking activities to ensure top-quality performance.☑ Created and implemented case management metrics that produced highly accurate quality measurements, and isolated top performance that became the company’s #1 marketing tool.

Brought on board to direct legal affairs and minimize risk of loss within a heavily regulated industry for an Environmental construction, remediation, and engineering company specializing in soil and groundwater remediation and landfill construction, with a 9-figure annual revenue total and 850 employees.Led a legal team of 3 attorneys, a paralegal, and 8 health & safety consultants, leveraging legal skills in a number of specialized disciplines. Directed all legal functions and matters across risk management, banking, construction, environmental, contract, employment, corporate, compliance, and acquisition activities.Managed insurance coverage matters and claims as the Risk Manager, conducting extensive due diligence on over 15 potential M&As.☑ Designed buy-out of the previous owner’s environmental liability at their request. Created a solid negotiating position for Handex based on in-depth research of ~110 sites; purchased an environmental insurance policy for all sites that extended the inception dates for the liability insurance back ~20 years. Closed the deal in 2002, resulting in a million-dollar payment price. Achieved a mid to high 6-figure net profit by 2004. Recognized by the Board of Directors for the financial upside of the buyout.☑ Directed litigation for ~40 lawsuits, including co-chairing a 9-day trial (based on contract disputes) that resulted in a 6-figure award in additional compensation. Additionally, protected the company in several patent matters.☑ Handled challenging employment situations effectively, as well as managing insurance coverage for over 800 employees and 400 vehicles (including off-road construction equipment).
