Once I have achieved that, I am responsible to transition the property back to an Owner Elected Board of Directors. This appointment happens very infrequently, and only when a Condominium and all of its advisors cannot find a better alternative. It is an extreme measure, but it works, because ultimately the Court oversees the operation through me as their agent. There are no politics because owners cannot remove me without the Court approval, and we can really get down to business and get the condo back on track. Whether it stays that way after the transition back to the Owner elected Board will depend on the Owners. If they elect the right people, and keep them accountable, it should have the same chance at success as any other condominium. I believe that the secret to being a good Administrator is no different than being a good Board member. Be honest, be transparent, be accountable, and listen carefully to the Owners needs. Having this level of authority also brings an equal level of responsibility to the community and it's Owners, which is a thought that I can not forget. Show less

The Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario was created to help standardize, professionalize and regulate the Condominium Management industry in Ontario. The Discipline and Appeals committees are part of that process to hear complaints involving an alleged breach of the Professional Codes of Ethics as developed from time to time.

This is an elected volunteer position on an Executive Board of Directors that helps to guide the National Canadian Condominium Institute, and coordinate the efforts of all of the various local chapters to help deliver education and representation for Condominiums and their Owners across Canada. It is a great honour to be leading such a great group of dedicated individuals whose passion comes from helping make Condominiums a better place to live and work in Canada!

This is the Toronto Chapter for the Canadian Condominium Institute. As an elected volunteer member of this Board, I help to design and deliver educational courses offered to Condominium Directors, Owners, and professionals like Real Estate Agents. The Courses are designed to help give participants a better understanding of the legislation and reality of Condominium living. CCI also works with government and other interested agencies to help make Condos better for the Owners.
