• Oversee general departmental operations and 108 personnel across the five major divisions (Patrol, Corrections, Civil/Courts, Criminal Investigations, & Administrative).• Implement and direct the goals, policies, and procedures of the Sheriff’s Office using strategic management, planning, and organizing, while directing and coordinating the day to day operations across divisions.• Identify, plan, develop, administer, and supervise the annual operating budgets and finance revenues; Monitor state and federal grants, process payroll, administer internal controls, prepare and submit scheduled reports to appropriate authorities, coordinate and cooperate with state auditing officials; Ensure overall fiscal operations are conducted in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and governmental accounting standards. Responsible for applicant recruitment, screening, and selection recommendations as it pertains to new hires and promotions of existing staff. Conduct internal affairs investigations and administer/approve employee discipline. • Serve as Public Information Officer by preparing written releases, video interviews, public appearances, and communications on social media.• Responsible for administration and management of a 211 bed correctional facility, including food service and medical. • Serve as departmental legal liaison to governmental entity and employee defense attorneys, as well as loss adjusting, workers compensation and serving as a certified safety committee member.

• Investigate alleged or suspected criminal violations of local laws to determine if evidence is sufficient to recommend prosecution.• Obtain and verify evidence by interviewing, observing suspects/ witnesses, and by analyzing records.• Determine scope, timing, and direction of investigations.

• Enforce law and order in rural or unincorporated districts • Execute arrest warrants, locating and taking persons into custody.• Submit logs and other related reports and paperwork to appropriate authorities.

• Monitor conduct of prisoners, according to established policies, regulations, and procedures, in order to prevent escape or violence.• Search prisoners and cells for weapons, drugs, and other contraband.• Record information, such as prisoner identification, charges, and incidences.

• Attend Courts, Serve Process, and Patrol, write reports and work sporting events
