The Dean role provides leadership and direction at the high school level by workingproactively to create a thriving school culture based on Tapestry’s core values. This role is essential tocollaborate with the team that works closest with the student to provide behavioral interventions andsocial-emotional learning (SEL) support is based on relationship building, creating a safe and productiveenvironment, maintain clear and accurate records, and provide ongoing support to the High SchoolCommunity using research-based practices that are rooted in restorative justice. In the Dean of Studentsrole, you are providing all stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and other administrators withclassroom/school-wide behavior management strategies and support.

My responsibilities were all duties as Assistant Director with the following additions:• Supervisory and management responsibilities over the Financial Aid Support Center, scholarship program and work-study programs and will work closely with outside vendors assisting in those processes.• Model outstanding service to students and parents; provide leadership to NOVA; represent NOVA Financial Aid at the local and national level, as requested; collaborate with other offices on financial aid policy and procedures; collaborate with key administrative campus offices and outside consultants as needed and requested.• Responsible for all publications, the financial aid website, financial aid forms, management of financial aid outreach—both internal and external to the college, default prevention and financial literacy.

• Manage all financial aid communications to include students, college staff, and NOVA constituents across all forms of media including print, web, social media, audiovisual products, and a quarterly financial aid newsletter targeting current financial aid students. • Established and manage a social media presence and departmental blog page for the college financial aid office increasing the office’s active engagement of students.• Compose all communications and review/edit existing communications each year or term, as appropriate, to promote more-complete awareness and knowledge of financial aid processes and requirements.• Coordinates all financial aid outreach activities between NOVA’s 6 campus locations and the community; while assisting with identifying, building and managing relationships with external organizations or college departments for partnerships in alignment with specific financial aid strategic goals.
