Billy Sample has joined the team at HP | Poly to be the Lead Telehealth Advisor. Billy will bring his telehealth expertise to Poly to help gain market share in healthcare. Billy will be focused on forging partnerships with regional healthcare consortia to drive awareness and opportunities for organizations to transition to telehealth.Billy has spent the better part of the last decade building and growing a Telehealth program in Montgomery, Alabama that gained national recognition for innovative healthcare in Rural Alabama. The program gained the attention of the Director of the CDC, who when touring their facilities stated that he had “heard of many places using telehealth, but this was the first time he ever went anywhere that could actually show him how to use it.” The program has published results in HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) care showing a 20 percent improvement in viral suppression rates of infected patients versus patients who received their care in person by the same doctors. During Billy’s time as Telehealth Resource Center Program Manager, he helped many organizations make the leap from in-person care, to providing services through telehealth as well. He and his team also developed and built Mobile Telehealth Suitcases that incorporate a Poly Studio X30 with screen, multiple peripherals, and broadband access necessary to provide telehealth service in rural America. Billy, who is also an Army Veteran has 3 children and resides in Montgomery, Alabama. He has a passion for music so large that he is a local DJ in Montgomery and enjoys listening to a wide variety of musical genres.
