Under the supervision of TSLAC staff, I examined, assessed, and processed archival materials.From Jan. 2014-May 2014, worked as a volunteer in the arrangement and description of the Texas Sheet Music Collection, an artificial collection housed at TSLAC and consisting of over 350 individual pieces of printed sheet music pertaining to Texan and US history. At the end of the project, an XML-encoded finding aid was uploaded to Texas Archival Resources Online (TARO), and the first stages of collection digitization were carried out, in order to better facilitate user awareness of and access to this collection of late 19th- and early 20th-century sheet music.From Sep. 2013-Dec. 2013, worked as part of a UT class project in the arrangement and description of a collection of materials (including manuscripts, financial records, meeting minutes, and photographs) related to the Texas Senate Ladies Club. Activities included creation of archival series, description of the same, rehousing of materials, creation of an archival finding aid, and XML mark-up of the finding aid for inclusion in TARO.

As Sold Orders Manager, I oversaw operations of a department responsible for nearly $15 million in special order jewelry sales each year. I managed and coordinated the duties of three Sold Orders Specialists, and served on an inter-departmental team whose focus was developing new point-of-sale system for our stores. On a daily basis, I assisted retail locations in serving their customers by processing all complex or problematic special orders and by remaining in constant contact with the vendors of these orders.

As a Sold Orders Specialist, I acted as an intermediary between over 450 retail locations and the more than 50 vendors who supplied our merchandise. Daily tasks included verifying with vendors the availability of customers' special order requests (different color or karat gold, different quality of stone, etc.), creation of the new item in inventory system if request was available, and calculation of the new retail price based upon vendor cost and standard mark-up. After five months in this position, I was promoted to Sold Orders Manager.
