Khonology Labs was a privately owned entrepreneurial company incorporated to build and launch a client onboarding platform. • Successfully secured seed capital (£500k) and a majority partner to co-fund an entrepreneurial venture to design and build a category-leading platform to digitize and simplify the onboarding and KYC process for legal entities.• Negotiated and signed a letter of intent and proof of concept with a major South African financial service provider as an anchor client. • Led a small team of technologists and analysts. As the subject matter expert led the agile design, build, testing, and demonstration of the platform. Achieved a 95% success rate in the proof of concept.• Secured a Mauritian business partner to co-launch in response to Mauritius being added to the European Union anti-money laundering blacklist.

• Launched the first KYC utility of its kind in South Africa and globally to onboard +20,000 legal entity clients.• Co-led successful negotiations to secure commercial contracts with the three top South African Corporate and Investments banks as founding clients. • Established a client-facing South African footprint (50 staff) to augment the international operational, business development, and compliance capability. • Successfully delivered the bedrock common Compliance Policy and Operating Model critical to effectively scaling the business, by chairing the multi-lateral client Compliance and Operational forums.• The South African utility model acted as a catalyst to establish similar enterprises in Singapore and the Nordic region.

This entailed regular updates to the Board.• Led a KYC Remediation Program to mitigate the entire book (+5000) of Corporate and Investment Banking clients in response to a R10m fine. • Head-hunted to lead the integration of the Custody and Trustee business (R40bn AuC) purchased from Barclays Africa.• Led the entire program of work covering governance, contract performance and execution across the Business, Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, Financial, Operational, and Technology disciplines • Delivered innovative solutions to satisfy deal-breaking suspensive conditions thus enabling the consummation of the deal and successful transfer of the business, cementing SCB as the 3rd largest Custody provider in South Africa and 2nd largest in Africa.

Managing Director JPMorgan Asset Services, Johannesburg, Cape Town South Africa (2 years)• Transferred from the UK to SA to head the JPMorgan Asset Services business providing Fund Accounting and Administration services to (amongst others) the South African insurance giants Sanlam and Old Mutual.• Led a team of 350 staff and managers, extending across technology, operations, relationship management, and business development, with a budget over R400m focused on the turnaround of the South African enterprise.• Integral to the negotiations with clients to transfer the business to a joint venture between Sanlam and Old Mutual.Managing Director Global OTC Derivative Operations, Bournemouth, United Kingdom (8 years)• Led a global team of 300 staff and managers across 3 continents with a budget of over £35m, providing OTC derivative confirmation and settlement services across the Credit, Rates, and Equity asset classes.• Implemented an innovative and market-leading global operating model for OTC derivative processing. The model sustained 10% multi-year portfolio growth without increased headcount.• Throughout 4 years of intense regulatory scrutiny from the Federal Reserve, consistently reported the least number of confirmation and settlement exceptions despite having the largest portfolio of open deals. • Proposed the methodology to accurately realise the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy loss and absorbed a 60% increase in contracts with no cost or headcount impact post the purchase of Bear Stearns.
