The authentication was done using JAAS framework. Two custom login modules where required. The login could be done using Windows SSO or an explicit login style. The authentication EJB was verifying the login criteria against the Datastore. - Implemented the security on the server components. The redesign included extensive UI work to convert a multi dialog user interface to a MDI type user interface. - AutoUpdate Server Component, this component was coordinating the real-time update of the client side. If the client were detected to be out of sync, the AutoUpdate Server would initiate the transfer of the required Jars to make the client in sync with the server. - TestManager Server Component, this component was in charge of testing the campaign on the server side before they actually go into production. The TestManager was duplicating the workflow of the Runtime Server without the actual creation of persistent object in the database to keep the integrity of the data. - Implementation of the client side of the DataWherehouse Module. That module function was to create relation between multiple physical databases by joining on their tables and fields.
