This task had been executed for PAN Environmental Services Limited, Riyadh and the expertise of ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE Server, SQL Server, MS Dot Net, ERDAS, Adobe Photoshop, and MS Office packages were used to meet the target.b) Project Title : Remediation and Restoration of Coastal Resources in Arabian GulfObjectives : The purpose of this project was to address damages that occurred to the salt marshes and tidal flats that lie within the coastal embayment as a result of the 1991 Gulf war oil spill. It involved the restoration of hydrologic functions to the degraded channels to facilitate the recruitment of flora and fauna to sustain ecological functioning system. It was an United Nations Claims Compensation (UNCC) funded project carried out for the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME), KSA. c) Project Title : Coastal Resources Baseline Assessment for the Arabian Gulf,Saudi Arabia Objectives : This project was a UNCC sponsored one executed for the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project had been contracted to Shaw Arabia Limited, Riyadh, KSA. The prime objectives of the project were (a) Preparation of Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) maps on GIS platform, (b) customization of oil spill model for Gulf coastal zone, and (c) formulation of a guidance document for Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) for the Saudi Gulf coast. The project area covered 800 km long Gulf coast of KSA, from Al-Khafji (North) to Al-Salwa (South). Show less
