About Diana Bishop

Coming from a family with five generations of military service, my life and work are guided by these US Air Force values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. I am passionate about leadership, collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, diversity of thought and fostering a culture of inclusivity. Over my career I have led large and small teams CONUS and OCONUS, working on national and international complex technology projects and innovation initiatives. I have defined and informed processes related to program, product and project management, driven initiatives with acute financial responsibility, ensured governance, risk and compliance, and have always achieved mission success with integrity and excellence. Very early in my career, while stationed at the Pentagon, I led the digital transformation of the Department of Defense Budget database system that drives the FYDP, or the Secretary of Defense's internal DoD database and accounting system that summarizes approved resources and funding. One of my proudest accomplishments was working closely with senior Air Force leadership in pioneering the first foray into developing, funding, and resourcing cyber weapons systems. We successfully organized the world of Air Force cyber operations into a formal structure called a numbered Air Force (24 AF) that provided cyber defense and offense operations. In addition to operational experience, I spent time at the US Air Force Academy where I directed technology research, continuing my passion for STEM while also shaping future leaders of character. I am still involved with academia through my role as an Affiliate Practice Scholar for the University of Pittsburgh's Institute for Cyber Law, Policy and Security.I currently work in the Defense Industrial Base in Cyber Defense.
