I worked in a LEAN manufacturing group to complete our part of the customer order. Determining the correct configuration of the cord from the supplied BOM and building the cords were my main responsibilities. I occasionally programmed and ran automated machines to measure, cut, and strip various cords or wires. Other positions required me to assemble breaker boxes and wire in required components. When needed, I filled a position to test torque specifications and verify electrical configuration by testing the finished units with an APT tester and a HIPOT tester.

The most important part of this job was figuring out the proper configuration of the gas detection meter from the customer order and assembling it with the correct sensors. I programed and tested the meter for each configuration. If needed, I would troubleshoot, diagnose, and replace faulty components. Packaging the meter with the correct accessories and paperwork was the last position in this work cell.

It required installing, updating, or removing faulty or underperforming software and hardware as needed. I set up computer systems in homes and businesses. Computers were built and refurbished as needed for stock.

I worked in a clean room with a team to assemble and install an overhead track for a robotic delivery system. The track required accurate measurements and alignment with some tolerances of only 0.5mm. Important safety protocols for large material handling, avoidance of fast moving systems, and lock-out tag-out procedures needed to be observed. I helped to adjust or modify schematics and materials to install the system when the original design could not be used. In the last two weeks the new tracks were integrated with an old system in split twelve hour shifts.
