I have been working as a programmer for over 19 years. While currently I am most proficient with Perl, JavaScript, Visual Basic, and PHP I can be productive with any language very quickly.I am comfortable working over an entire software stack. I can normalize a database and write optimized SQL queries. I can design and code a REST service to expose an API. I can design and code a user interface for a web application using a JavaScript framework or a native desktop application using wxPerl or Visual Basic.I am experienced working with clients to define their requirements and translate that into different design documents for technical versus non-technical audiences.I have telecommuted for most of my career and have no problem working with little to no direct supervision, while still being part of a development team.My biggest strength is that I am a self directed learner. When I do not have an answer to a question I know how to find it.
