The Be You Bushfire Response Program with Early Childhood Australia was designed to educate, support and empower communities with understanding and working with emotional and behavioral needs of children, post natural disaster.My role required building strong partnerships between Early Learning Services, local and state departments, children and family services and the community; as well as creating recovery plans, with long and short term goals.It was essential to embody a trauma-informed approach and communication, to understand the immediate needs of services and families, create possible solutions, source resources and connections with other services. Building trust and authentic relationship was key to the success of this role and community recovery. I was responsible for delivering wellbeing and trauma guidance and support to educators and families of children impacted by natural disaster. Additionally, I focused heavily on self-care and daily rituals to support stabilising the nervous system of care providers; all in service of creating an environment for children to feel safe and loved.

Communities That Care is an evidence-based prevention framework, that requires strong partnerships between schools, local council, government departments, youth services and the community. Through research, this partnership implements long term, sustainable strategies to address risk and protective factors, contributing to poor outcomes for young people. My role included driving, growing and strengthening this partnership to successfully implement the CTC framework; initiating a community-wide suicide prevention strategy; and bringing trauma-informed, positive education to the local community. This role really showed me contribution and collaboration to create magic for young people. Prevention is a long, steady path and the rewards are worth the hike.

ATMA believes in targeting capacity growth and sustainability of existing local organisations that target access of quality education toward low income and disadvantaged populations. ATMA prides working with passionate leaders of grassroots organisations committed to this cause through a 3 year interactive Accelerator Program, to generate greater reach and social impact. My role involved working in collaboration with a special education school, to redesign their current business structure and implement systems tailored to the needs of the students. YGAP’s run profitable social ventures and fundraising campaigns while also partnering with incredible donors to fund their work.The Polished Man Campaign is YGAP’s most recent innovative fundraising campaign that challenges men to paint 1 nail to represent the 1 in 5 children who are physically or sexually abused before the age of 18. Funds raised from Polished Man are used to support both trauma prevention and trauma recovery for children who have experienced violence or at risk of violence. In 2014 & 2015 Polished Man has raised over $608,000, engaging 20,000+ Polished Men around the world. My role on the 2016 campaign, was to manage community and corporate partnerships, innovatively enhancing engagement opportunities. Responsibilities include;-Partner acquisition and stakeholder management -Identify and negotiate innovative and unique opportunities between new and existing partners and the campaign-Develop and coordinate product and collateral distribution to support partnership engagement -Coordinate community events with corporate and community partnerships; enhancing opportunities for fundraising -Work collaboratively with Campaign Manager, assist where necessary-Organise and maintain CRM database for community partnerships-Support volunteer team communication and oversee quality of performance ++ I have learnt the power of collaboration, from action to adaptation. With one vision and the passion of a team to help drive this, one conversation can change the perspectives of many.
