As supervisor, I was responsible for the development of direct reports in their engineering and technical careers. Working with each staff member, we generated job descriptions which outlined duties and expectations. We mapped out their future responsibilities, set goals and identified training opportunities. As a structural engineer, my responsibilities included the design and load rating of structures and structural inspections. I directed the assembly of survey data and developed preliminary plans to size structures and members. I prepared design calculations and models that identified loads on structures, determined member sizes, and obtained member stress. From the analysis I designed connections and foundations. I checked design computations and plans prepared by others. I assembled final plans and specifications for delivery to clients. My structural inspection work included bridges, dams, overhead signs, high mast light poles, and traffic signal structures. As a diver, I completed the underwater inspection of bridges, culverts, and dams. As a rope access technician, I climbed large structures with a personal fall arrest system. As an Inspection Team Leader, I led teams for routine, fracture critical, movable, underwater, damage and in-depth bridge inspections. Team size ranged from 2 to 4. I directed the teams to safely move around the structures, gather detailed notes, and obtain digital photos and video. I rated bridge elements and National Bridge Inventory items, logged photos and videos, assembled maintenance recommendations, and backed up electronic files daily. I directed report writing to client specifications. I entered bridge inspection data into reporting systems, established assignments for quality control and directed submittals.As project manager, I managed structural inspection projects from start to finish located throughout the United States. I initiated project pursuits, proposals, contracts, and work plans. I prepared invoices and financial reports. I developed tracking spreadsheets, reviewed hours charged, and verified direct expenses. I delivered progress reports, final reports and maintenance recommendations. I responded to clients, followed up on past projects, and reviewed their upcoming needs.

As Structural Engineer Intern, I assisted with the design of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, and steel bridges and steel frames under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer. I prepared design computations and checked computations prepared by other team members. I checked design plans and calculated quantities. I assisted with the underwater inspection of bridges and other structures. I led teams for the routine inspection of bridges.

As Manufacturing Engineer Intern, I assisted with the development of processes for the assembly and installation of new equipment on existing jet airplane lines. Using plans provided by engineering, I wrote process instructions for the cutting, forming, finishing, and assembly of aluminum parts and assemblies. I wrote instructions on how to assemble parts, sub-assemblies, and install them in to the aircraft. I investigated excess part deliveries, incorrect part delivery locations, and improper flow of assembly line to find root causes. From root causes of errors, I developed plans to correct issues and presented findings to management.
