After beginning in The Lodge as a software engineer, I found quickly that my passion for writing code could only take me as far as the experience people got out of it. It turns out I don't really like technology—I like what we (people) do with technology.So, after a brief intro to The Lodge, I began to wear two hats—both engineering and UX designer. After a bit over a year, I fully transitioned into the UX role, where I'd stay through my tenure at W+K.Here, I practiced wireframing, UX research, comping, visual design, copywriting, and anything else that would come with the manic environment that is a creative tech group embedded within a global advertising agency.

Hired in 2008 as a junior, and after a one-and-a-half years promoted to Senior technician/analyst responsible for supporting the production studio (Studio) at W+K Portland.Responsibilities included maintenance of 100+ users across multiple hardware configurations, task automation through Python and other scripting, development of internal resources such as OS X tweaks and Automator applications, and planning for, budgeting for, and seeing through growth of the computer infrastructure in the Studio.Primary JSS administrator for Portland, and advisor to other offices on setup, management, and advancement of site JSS implementations.

Lecturer of Beginning and Intermediate Graphic Design Courses at Humboldt State University, for the Fall 2005 and Spring 2006 semesters, under the guidance of then Head Graphic Design Professor Wayne Knight.Presented lectures on concepts of layout, typography, color, and packaging. Each course consisted of biweekly lectures, and a series of projects each with a review emulating a client meeting on a product or phase thereof.

Wrote custom XML to modify POS device activity to suit individual clients and overall business goals.Facilitated in multiple acquisitions of merchants to the Humboldt Merchant Service umbrella, with tasks ranging from generating communications to acquired merchants to supporting the newly acquired merchants via phone to get them up and running with Humboldt Merchant Services.
