After 11 years in public accounting and 1 year in industry, I am honored to join the outstanding team at the Terry Foundation. As a recipient of this full scholarship (2001 Terry Scholar at UT Austin), I can personally attest to the profound impact the Terry Foundation has on its scholars. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work as a part of the team that provides this opportunity to access undergraduate education to dedicated and bright students at 13 public universities in Texas. Prior to joining the foundation, I gained more than 11 years of experience in both federal and state tax compliance. Although my experience included several years of both preparing and reviewing individual, partnership and trust tax returns, my primary focus became large corporate tax compliance. I enjoyed both the complexities of the large corporate tax arena and the satisfaction of helping clients formulate the appropriate tax compliance solutions. In early 2016 I transitioned into the newly created role of Tax Department Learning and Development Leader, wherein I enhanced and coordinated all of the tax training curriculum for tax interns, new hires and staff. I also helped lead an expansion support team for a newly acquired office and handled training coordination, onsite support and integration. I was also heavily involved in recruiting and coordinated several morale boosting and community service activities as the office champion for BDO's Women's Inclusion and BDO Counts initiatives. In June of 2017 I began providing tax accounting and reporting services to BHP Billiton as an independent contractor. In March of 2018 I was honored to join the Terry Foundation team to help the Foundation in its mission to create undergraduate education opportunities for the future leaders of Texas.Specialties: Federal, state & foreign tax compliance; training and development
