About Peter Blair

Thanks for visiting my profile. I specialise in paid and organic Social Media. At Breast Cancer Now, I successfully managed the merger of the social presence of its two legacy charities, and moved our operation to Facebook Business Manager. I grew our social presence for the new charity across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn, and managed our activity across all aspects of our operation, including content design and planning, analytics and reporting, paid activity, whilst implementing new functionality for Facebook Donate and pixel-based ad tracking.At Symantec, I exceeded all targets for growing our Norton Facebook community in EMEA and introduced new capabilities covering content planning, paid activity, analytics & reporting, support for live events, and social selling. In 2014, I delivered Symantec's first ever Vine video campaign. At Business Link, I developed our social media channels from scratch, receiving verification of our Twitter site and hosting the UK Government's first ever live Twitterchat. My underlying philosophy is that social is something that we do ‘with’ people rather than broadcast ‘to’ them. In 2011, I became Marie Curie's first-ever Customer Insight Manager, delivering a key insight analysis explaining why the Charity’s paid activity on Facebook was failing to drive fundraising. I have a Cambridge PhD. I’m bright. I come from an academic background where challenge is normal. I value objectivity over ‘withitness’. It’s in my DNA to make judgements based on observable phenomena and not be influenced by emotions or personal prejudices. I’m a human geographer with a high degree of numeracy.
