After more than 8 years at Quadrant Chambers (and far too many years over all) I am retiring in June 2024. I will be having a gap year in which I am lucky enough to have the time to decide what, if anything, I will do next. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my professional or private life over the last 43 or so years.Most recently I worked as Chief Operating Officer at Quadrant Chambers between 2016 and 2024. there I worked with members of chambers and the support staff at Quadrant Chambers to ensure that the business was as efficient as possible, that the leadership team was working well, that new lines of business were sourced and developed, and that members of chambers, and members of staff, felt supported in everything they did. Having started my career in hotels, I moved to banqueting in London before changing tack to become an IT professional. After four years I moved into general management and then finance before ending up as Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Finance at Middle Temple and then the first Chief Operating Officer of Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP (now Fieldfisher). I have acted as interim Chambers Director for a top tier criminal set of chambers in London, a regional set of chambers and for a national educational consulting firm. From 2009 to 2015 I worked as an independent consultant to law firms, chambers, commercial and not for profit organisations.I am a past Chairman of a small company owning a property in the City of London, of The Trust for Sustainable Living and a past Trustee of Drake Music.Having graduated from London Business School in 2003, I continue to keep in contact and am one of the School's most experienced interviewers for the Executive MBA programme.Specialties: General Management, Risk Management, Communications, Operations - tactical & strategic, negotiation, financial strategy & planning, ICT stategy & planning, non-profit organisation
