Responsible for Class-A surfacing on all aero-sensitive components and maintained OEM branding identification. Worked extensively on Corvette LMP1 wind tunnel and CFD models.Implemented more efficient use of aerodynamics on all programs for various areas such as: track specific downforce packages, improved front/rear brake cooling balance, more optimized radiator flow/exhaust, optimized frontal area and inlet airflow, enhanced driver cooling with internal AC system design, front wing and rear wing optimization.Assembled and prepared watertight CFD models. This included already existing CAD components, and integrated newly designed pieces and scanned geometry on a case-by-case basis for simulations. Successfully implemented 3D laser and point probe scanning for these responsibilities with corresponding software packages such as InnovMetric Polyworks, and Faro Cam2. Was responsible for many proof-of-concept designs utilizing 3D rapid prototyping processes such as SLA and FDM. I was responsible for determining when and where rapid prototyping could be used to our advantage to verify aero components and continue to stick to critical deadlines.
