Dynamic Air Shelters "Inflatable Blast Resistant Shelters" are being used around the United States in various Oil / Gas Refineries. DAS have developed a blast resistant air beam shelter system offering protection from the blast and ballistic hazards of industrial explosions, military weapons, and IED threats. The DAS blast resistant air beam shelter operates as a large integrated energy-absorption system designed to deflect and rebound under shock and impact. Originally developed for the petroleum industry to counter the effects of refinery explosions, the system has been further developed to incorporate a dynamic ballistic and blast barrier. The integrated system has been successfully tested in a variety of full-scale field trials at various peak blast overpressure levels, through extended positive phase durations and against a variety of military munitions based IEDs up to and including 155 mm U.S. artillery ammunition statically fired at 5 meter range and direct detonation RPG. These tests were conducted at the Defense Research and Development Center, Blossom Point testing facility in Virginia with ORA, Baker Risk testing facilities in Kennedy Texas. The success of these trials has demonstrated the surety of the Dynamic system, as a highly mobile and effective alternative to traditional hardened blast/ballistic resistant structures.
