Trading in the rolling hills and never-ending pastures of Arkansas, Blake moved to Salt Lake City during the summer of 2016 to attend the University of Utah, obtaining his M.Ed. degree in Educational Leadership & Policy. Utah’s welcoming community, picturesque mountain backdrops, and the multitude of social and outdoor opportunities created the perfect environment for Blake to call home. With his small-town roots and focus on community and connection, he now thrives while spending his time helping others find a place to call home.That drive for creating community and connection is why Blake has had a successful career in non-profit fundraising and why supporting buyers, sellers, and investors comes naturally to him. College of Fine Arts -- External Relations team in the Office of Development

Main responsibilities include the areas of donor stewardship, College of Fine Arts recognition and acknowledgement correspondence, coordination with the five academic departments, and planning/implementation of annual donor events. Donor stewardship activities include personal engagements with donors and maintaining donor/gift tracking database, as well as various administrative tasks. Coordination with the five academic departments of Art & Art History, Dance, Film & Media Arts, Music, and Theatre includes assessing donor gifts and accommodating donor wishes.

Areas of research and responsibilities include working within Foundation Relations in assessing opportunities for current/future funding for various parties at the University of Utah. Engagement also included assisting with the Foundation Fellows cohort of faculty in providing an educational opportunity to explore, engage, and propose ideas to national organizations for research funding.

Specializing in the areas of student programming, facilities management, on-campus collaborations, off-campus partnerships, annual giving in the form of educational scholarships, and departmental development.

Served as a Summer Intern within the Office of Student Leadership & Involvement, in collaboration with the Associated Students of the University of Utah and the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE). Responsibilities included completing site visits at each Utah public institution of higher education to collect qualitative and quantitative data to establish a benchmarking clearing house for all student governments/associations. Final benchmarking report included organization charts for each department, election procedure packets, state appropriations/student fee allocations, and policy recommendations from both advisor and student perspectives.

Responsibilities included the editing of professional applicant credentials, advising undergraduate students and student organizations, composition of annual orientation documents, assisting in commencement(s), as well as other duties assigned.

Responsibilities consisted of facilitating make-up exams for undergraduate students, revising/editing department proposals, advising of undergraduate English students, compiling annual book orders for faculty, and other administrative tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities included administrative tasks such as the filing of legal documents, answering phones, drafting emails, submission of required documents for county court, witness to wills, estates, etc., and other duties as assigned.
