About Blake Gooch

As Assistant Director of the Data, Science & Technology Career Community at Denison University, I perform various functions that aid faculty, staff, and students. Within the Knowlton Center, I meet with students, participate in our signature event programs, supervise my Peer Fellows, manage content for my Career Community page, and collaborate with colleagues to discuss best practices for our office. In the campus community, I work with faculty as a liaison of the Knowlton Center, and I conduct workshops for my assigned areas of study. In my 5 years as a Student Success coach, I have utilized my strong ability to connect and develop others through meetings with students. I assist first-year and continuing students in developing an academic plan and work to continue to follow up with their personal and academic well-being. In this role, I had the chance to advise Exploaroty majors to help these students to transition into a major of interest they could graduate with at IU East. My goal as a success coach and a higher education professional is to help students find the hidden potential within themselves to reach their goals.
