After Graduation, I took on a full time position with Green’s accounting firm in Greenfield, CA. I worked on over 200 individual tax returns which were on extension, including many clients with rental properties and small businesses. I also reconciled monthly bank accounts for a handful of small businesses our firm managed. At week’s end I would record and process accounts payable for 2 of the 3 local towns the firm managed. In addition, I assisted with fiscal year end tasks and with the ERP system conversion.

I was an office assistant for a CPA during the 2023 tax season. I started with basic office tasks- scanning documents, assembling completed returns, and inputting basic returns into the tax software. As the season progressed, I took on more complex work, completing returns for individuals with rental properties and small Schedule C businesses.

I monitored a variety of small and medium wine vineyards in the greater Paso Robles area. I counted clusters and sampled cluster weights to forecast yields. I checked for disease in the older vineyards and examined stand health in the newly planted vineyards. Later in the season I tested sugar levels to schedule harvests and participated in some harvests.

Summer job/internship on a vegetable ranch and vineyard. I worked on the irrigation crew and started water daily. I drove light tractors to disc weeds, maintain roads, and haul irrigation pipe. I also worked in the office and used Microsoft Excel to budget crop expenses and calculate accounts receivable schedules. I paid monthly bills and recorded expenses in the general ledger. I assisted with monthly water sampling for food safety compliance and created documents in Spanish for worker safety. I also tested wine grape sugars and assisted with the harvest and the logistics involved with planning it.
