Long term goals include using more environmentally friendly chemicals to synthesize these membranes, and being able to upcycle consumer plastics into a support for the membranes. I made the lifeguard work schedule for two of the pools, and several of the lifeguards in my staff were internationals, some of whom had never been to the U.S. before and spoke very little English. I worked as a lifeguard at a community pool for four summers and was the lifeguard manager during the summer of 2019. As the manager, I was responsible for making the schedule for and managing the 10 lifeguards that were under my supervision. I also managed the overall safety of patrons, and resolved patron issues. I also was in charge of maintaining suitable chlorine and pH levels in both the main and kiddie pools.
