I learned the processes of professional engineering projects by participating in meetings and by working on some aspects of the projects. I primarily worked on designing wire harnesses with a program called DraftSight which is a 2D CAD software program from AutoDesk. I learned how to translate high level system diagrams into detailed CAD drawings with the help from my manager and mentor.

I had the opportunity to shadow project managers from the different contracting disciplines that WBE specializes in. I learned a lot about how project managers handle the obstacles that arise when a project is in development as well as the steps of a project life cycle. I was able to visit different sites across the bay area to see the comparisons of what projects look like in real life versus their blue print schematics. Towards the end of the internship I worked directly under the Chief of Field Operations as their assistant and learned how to properly allocate teams to specific projects.
