I was a Lab Engineer in Dr. Teresa Lever's Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery lab. I worked with other undergraduate, graduate, medical, and veterinarian school students and assisted them with their research projects by designing and printing specific 3D printed parts with a 3D printer. Their purpose is to trigger the laryngeal adductor reflex (LAR), which is a brief, bilateral closure of the vocal folds in the throat to prevent foreign material from entering the lungs. I refereed both intramural indoor and sand volleyball and ensured that games start on time and ran smoothly.

Along with other Team Mizzou members, I ensured and maintained security of the facility at the check-in desks, cleaned workout equipment, and helped members with any questions and/or needs.

I researched collagen synthesis and stability in vitro. I learned laboratory procedure, sterile techniques, and nanoparticle application and cross-linking.
