I lead two cross-functional teams, totaling 20 developers and testers, who maintain high-traffic websites in the Asia region. We’re also working on the company’s strategic future platform.

I successfully led and expanded a cross-functional team of technical experts for an innovative SaaS supply chain management project, working 4 day weeks. I demonstrated strong leadership by overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from the initial design and development to the final delivery. A key highlight was securing and smoothly transitioning our first major client, Kenya’s largest LPG provider, onto our platform. This involved efficiently managing millions of daily stock movements and set a strong precedent for future client engagements.

As an Engineering Manager and later as Head of Software Development, I led the shift from a B2C model to a SaaS B2B product offering. I managed 5 remote, T-shaped teams consisting of 35 developers and testers. During this time, I strategically executed departmental goals, ensuring they were well-aligned with business objectives. I implemented agile (Scrum) and DevOps methodologies, which significantly improved our processes and boosted team productivity. I also focused on recruitment and talent development, building a highly skilled and stable workforce while fostering a strong engineering culture. Additionally, I oversaw incident management and on-call programs, ensuring rapid issue resolution and maintaining high service quality.

I led a team of 9 in developing and testing the GiG Magic Middleware solution and various frontend projects. During this time, I directed the transition from a legacy monolithic system to a modern microservice-based architecture, ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout the process. I also played a key role in shaping the system architecture and making technology choices, which significantly enhanced system performance and scalability. Additionally, I implemented process improvements and effective management strategies that increased our team’s efficiency and productivity.
