I have been a F&B Captain at Pinehurst Country Club for five years, and I love what I do. During the summers, I supervise the Cafe at our pool complex, and in the Fall/Winter I help the other captains in the main clubhouse with our day to day dining operations and banquet functions. I specialize in event operations, making sure our events are set to the client’s specifications and that we give top tier service to our guests. I work with my Operations manager and Event Planners to ensure that no matter the occasion or type of event, everything from start to finish runs like a well oiled machine. Some of my current job duties include: alcohol purchases for the entire Club, including the pool and special events, payroll for pool café and bar staff, counting and inputting the inventory for the entire front of house operation at the Club, keeping a par stock of all consumables for the pool, as well as placing requisitions for all of our paper products for the pool. I also interview, hire, and train any new cafe and bar staff in our policies and procedures, and how to maintain our equipment(soda fountains, soft serve machines, etc.). I am also a participant on our Employee Assistance Fund committee, where we give financial relief to qualified Employee Partners in the event of an emergency. I also have a seat on our newly formed Workforce Diversity Committee.
