When you have so many passions in your life, they can really lead you anywhere. My own passions have led me somewhere I never would have expected.What passions did you have growing up? For me, I love creative endeavors, and they introduced me to Japanese culture. I studied Japanese in high school and continued my Japanese education in university. My passion for Japan's language and culture (can I mention the amazing food?) led me abroad through the JET Program as an assistant language teacher in English. Moving to another country fulfilled my sense of adventure, but it also grew in me respect for communication, cultural differences, and taking initiative. Asking questions, learning about others, and accepting my mistakes helped me assimilate to a new life, and I enjoyed five years in Fukushima.So why sterile processing? Having nurses in my family, I greatly respected the dedication and hard work medical professionals give to people in need. Due to changes in my health, I moved on from managing a classroom, but I still wanted to help others. Sterile processing was a perfect fit! I love supporting the surgery team and hospital and adhering to safety. Working closely with others in a fast-paced environment has molded me to have patience and be a team player.
