Indirectly supervises over one-hundred (100) positions located at all ELMHS campuses and in the various sub­ departments and work units under Environmental Services, including safety, maintenance, boiler room, paint, plaster, carpentry, locksmith, sheet metal/welding, electric, plumbing, HVAC/refrigeration, and automotive shops, support services of risk management, mail services, nutritional services, and telecommunications. Most sections are headed by a supervising manager and/or foreman providing direct oversight of the unit.Responsible for promoting and improving the environment for clients, staff, and visitors of the hospital.Responsible for establishing hospital policies and procedures associated with the Environment of Care.Assists Administration and the Fiscal Department in preparing the annual hospital budget. Provides cost estimates of specific projects.Meets with staff daily to discuss activities, personnel problems and improvement opportunities. Meets with supervisors to discuss maintenance and problems affecting patient care. Surveys grounds for hazardous solid waste problems. Reviews requisitions and (at times) Work Order requests to determine priority order.Serves on various committees.

I have served in a consulting role concerning the staffing aspects of state government.My initial role was directly relating to other human resource departments in other state agencies. This included aiding in translation/application of applicable hiring rules, participating in job studies, and determination of applicants qualifications. This position also afforded me opportunities to provide training, both developing and administering.My current role is relating directly to the public. I am part of a team that administers pre-employment examinations. I also am responsible for recruiting efforts. This is currently focused on job fairs and college career days. We are also branching out into establishing relationships with college organizations and clubs that concern degrees we are specifically targeting. This is a project for which I am largely responsible and in which I am very interested.

I was initially responsible for finding the lesson plans left by the teacher and implementing them, while maintaining discipline among the students.I spent the last quarter of the year substituting for one teacher which required the development of lessons plans as well as determining, creating, and implementing evaluations. I was, of course, required to maintain discipline among the students.
