One of my college professors used to say that good programmers are intelligently lazy. But what does that mean? It boils down to always looking for the most efficient way to do a task. In other words, why do a repetitive action dozens of times when you can teach a computer to do it in less time? That's what computers are good at, after all.I have modeled my career after this idea, always looking for ways to drive increased efficiency. Often, this manifests as new or improved tools to speed the development process, but at other times it can be seen in improved code or process streamlining.
