As a Sourcing Specialist at Hack4Impact, my role was to establish connections with non-profit organizations in the DMV area and identify opportunities for Hack4Impact to enhance or completely redesign their web applications. Throughout the semester, I proactively reached out to three non-profits per week via email. I conducted in-depth Zoom meetings with two key organizations to assess their needs and determine alignment with our services. These interactions provided valuable insights into the genuine challenges faced by organizations, highlighting opportunities for engineers to address real-world problems.

As a Data Analyst Intern for EBM Software, I had the opportunity to work in the backend of all aspects of the business analysis process. I created pipelines to copy millions of rows of raw data to an SQL Server to be cleaned for Analysts and clients to use. Additionally, I pioneered a User Analytics report to take data of users of our software and package it into a report that is easy for stakeholders to read and analyze for future actions. This report included a churn predictor, which gives alerts of users who are most in danger of stopping using our software. Along with this work on active data, I was able to automate a key process Analysts do to send workbooks to clients without requiring credentials.

3-Semester-long experience developing research skills leading up to conducting new research with a small team. My research is in the Climate Computing stream, focusing on data science analyzing atmospheric models.

Used the Cheyenne supercomputer to simulate and analyze integrated water vapor transport in the atmosphere. Using ERA5 data and the numerical definition of atmospheric rivers, I wrote a Python program to detect atmospheric rivers. Throughout this project, I was in constant contact with my professor and collaborated with my stream of research interns to produce the best results. After completing my research, I presented an organized slide deck of my findings to the group.
