I am a Data Scientist and experienced innovator. My 12 year career has led me to drive solutions to complex problems as a consultant and at a mid-state startup. I am excited to bring my team leadership experience, flexibility and passion to collaborate with business and product leaders on their toughest data challenges.I began my career as a Naval Architect, focused on shipboard systems and supporting the U.S. Navy. Working with Jim Hill at ICI gave me a view into what it takes to be the best in the business at engineering complex, critical systems and maintaining client relationships.In 2012, I swapped the desktop for a laptop and hit the road, consulting for Capgemini. This accelerated my collection of business acumen and gave me the opportunity to build skillsets I lean on every day: collaboration, communication, analysis, and solution design. I had the opportunity to work for companies who made the pizza you just had delivered... and the car it arrived in... and the store where you bought the TV you couldn't stop watching! Here I first learned SQL, self-taught across dozens of hotel business centers.After 5 years on the road, I wanted to settle down.... just kidding! I jumped into the startup scene in 2017, joining Instacart, which had fewer than 300 employees at the time. Our vision to change the way people think about groceries expanded quickly - across hundreds of cities and retailers, thousands of employees, and a wide range of product offerings. Instacart grew from an inspiring idea to a public utility during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. In my 6 years at Instacart, picked up a lot of new skills, led teams, and held a range of transformational roles - always skewing more technical.As the world opens up to AI and leans evermore into machine learning, I took the opportunity to focus on honing these skills with the team at General Assembly in 2023. Looking ahead, I am excited to embrace and contribute this acceleration into a data-intensive world, bringing all that I have learned to the table!
