Bob Allen started his legal career after graduating from SMU School of Law in 1984, where he was an Editor of the Southwestern Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board. He first was a law clerk on the Texas Supreme Court and then worked for Dallas based Vial Hamilton, where he made partner in 1990. From Vial, he spent 10 1/2 years at the Dallas office of Baker McKenzie where he was an International Partner/Principal and was the Chair of the firm's North American Insurance and Reinsurance Disputes Practice Group. From Baker, he opened up the Dallas office of Meckler Bulger Tilson Marick & Pearson. On March 1, 2013, he founded the Law Offices of Robert D. Allen, PLLC now known as The Allen Law Group.Bob is a Fellow, Regent and Executive Committee member of the American College of Coverage Counsel (ACCC). He has been elected to membership in the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) and the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC) and he is active in DRI. He has been named to Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading Insurance and Reinsurance Attorneys, Best Lawyers in America and he has been a Texas Super Lawyer from its inception. Martindale Hubbell has designated him with a Preeminent AV rating based on peer review. He is double Board Certified in Insurance Law and Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.Bob's insurance, reinsurance, commercial and tort litigation practice includes over 40 published opinions from most of the Texas Courts of Appeals, the Fifth, Ninth and Tenth Circuits, the Texas Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court. He has tried over twenty cases in jury and bench trials. The Texas Lawyer named one of his jury trial victories as the #2 Insurance Jury Verdict of 2011.
