I direct a department of 5 engineers 6 Technologist In this role I am responsible for all technical matters relating to product quality. Also equipment efficiency in relation to optimization for throughput. I also direct the plant technical program for future development programs.

IOCC has two Chemical Laboratories that reported to me. One in Labrador City for production needs. ( 1 chemist, 1 supervisor, 1 repair person, 1 general labour, 17 analyst). The second lab is in Sept- Iles P.Q. at our port area. This lab is for cargo analysis (1 chemist and 6 analyst). I managed an annual budget of 7.5 million dollars for these labs.

I was the operations representative to this project for the pellet plant. My role was to vent proposals and when ready take them back to the operations group. I did all interfacing with the engineering group for the project. Was also responsible for monitoring tear out and construction. Proof flow sheet drawings/p&ID drawings.

Principal duties: Have responsibility to ensure that expansion projects are implemented in the correct manner in the pellet plant. Effectively to act as the representative for operations , maintenance and process engineering, with the major project group and consultant engineering groups. Principal duty was to implement the ISO 14001 environmental standard and get certification for IOC. ( project completed 4 month ahead of timeline. Certification achieved.)

Develop an overall strategy for the 30 million dollar induration pallet truck fleet. This included parts rationalisation , direction for improvement going forward, a preventive maintenance strategy.I have also done a four month project to commission a new 2.5 million dollar Soda Ash batching plant within the Pellet Plant.
