Global warming and national energy grid stability are two major issues for all Americans. I am working with ElectriqPower as a strategic advisor to help address both issues. The company has created an intelligent Home Energy Management System to help solve these issues. A Smart and Secure electric grid, with increased usage of renewable and distributed energy sources, will keep the US economically strong for future generations. The company's PowerPod system is a foundational element of resilient homeowner, community and national Smart Grids.

Served as a Founding member of the Management Council of this privately held DoD-focused systems integration company. I provided strategic business guidance to the President and assisted in creating high level corporate goals. TKCIS was very successful in attaining these objectives and eventually merged with sister companies to form the Qivlik Federal Products Group..

Invested significant money and helped orchestrate a "Series B" round of funding to assure development of a high-performance, network-based computing platform. I revamped the marketing program, established key business relationships and helped win several strategically important US government customers. I also served on the Board of Directors until a permanent CEO was hired and then I continued in an advisory capacity. CloudShield was acquired by SAIC in January 2010 and became a centerpiece of their cyber-security division.

Helped write the business plan, obtain initial funding and created the sales and business development strategy for WheelGroup. The company is noted for creating the first widely-usable network-based intrusion detection system. It received significant recognition from media outlets such as Fortune Magazine (Feb 1997) for its contributions in advancing the state of network security and making the Internet safer for commerce (check Wikipedia). Wheelgroup was acquired by Cisco Systems in February 1998 for $124M. I spent one year at Cisco as a Marketing Manager for security products.

Created and managed a new business operating unit within this existing defense contractor. Repackaged several governement products and services for resale to the commercial market, including LAN upgrades, network security, and document imaging. The Commercial Divison contributed over $3m of revenue in its first full year.

Joined NET as Director of Sales Engineering, employee #29. Helped open many regional sales offices and create the initial SE unit while winning many large commercial accounts. Was a co-founder of NET Federal in 1986, focused on solving strategic US government issues, beginning with the White House Communications Agency. Co-shared the first NET President's award for winning the huge DISN contract ($100m deal). Was the Director of Advanced Programs from 1988 to 1993, managing a highly classified, global network for a major DoD intellgence agency. Involved in several "national interest" activities such as Desert Storm / Desert Shield and Operation Just Cause.
