Involved with bar code and the automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) industry since 1989. Provide consulting services for the implementation of automatic identification systems for Ericsson US (formerly Telcordia Technologies, Inc.), telephone companies & equipment manufacturers, as well as providing support for the Ericsson’s Common Language equipment coding business. Works with numerous suppliers of automatic identification technologies & provides expert assistance with the design, compliance, training & implementation of telecommunication industry standards and Department of Defense Unique Item Identification policy.Chaired the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions Bar Code/Standard Coding Committee since 1998-which developed the Product Marking Implementation Guideline, modified the Implementation Guide to Package Labeling to incorporate 2D symbols on labels and was project editor for the RFID product, package and shipping tagging specifications through his leadership.

Developed a semester/quarter class (or 32 hours) on Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) with Robert Rylander. The class includes basics of AIDC including bar codes, 2D symbols and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). It also includes lesson and laboratories on AIDC system design and implementation. The course is available on-line through the college - or is taught when requested as a 4 full day intensive class.
