CurrentSenior Environmental Engineer with Shell Exploration and Production Company within Shell Appalachia. Groundwater Protection Team Lead primarily responsible for managing and responding to potential soil and groundwater impacts associated with natural gas activities from well pad construction through well production. Also responsible for ensuring similar groundwater programs are implemented at other Unconventional Assets in U.S., South America and Canada consistent with Shell's operating principles and regulatory frameworks. For Appalachia, also responsible for obtaining applicable permits and water management plans for water sources (groundwater, surface water and public water) used in drilling and hydraulic fracturing activities. Responsible for maintaining Center for Responsible Shale Development (CRSD) certification for Appalachia which includes conformance with 8 water and 7 air quality standards established by the standards committee. CRSD is an voluntary organization that includes both operators and environmental non-government organizations such as Environmental Defense Fund, Pennsylvania Environmental Council and Clean Air Task Force that stride to raise the bar on environmental performance. Appointed by the governor to be a member of the technical advisory board for the oil and gas division of the PADEP. Provide senior leadership to Appalachia asset and US/Canada in the area of external relations (universities, communities, research) on specific environmental, regulatory and health issues
