About Bob Hughes

Highly experienced engineer (30+ years) in the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of industrial drying and curing systems for all industries and/or dust and fume extraction and abatement systems for all industries.Specialising in hazardous area (ATEX & MSER) applications.Originally started working life as an analytical chemist (ceramics) before moving into ceramics and rubber & plastics R&D followed by Project Management and Works Management before making the jump in 1986 into the technical design and sales of drying/oven systems - initially I was head hunted to develop and sell industrial microwave drying systems for the ceramics industry and spent a considerable amount of time conducting on-site R&D in several European countries. This was followed by a move to another specialist drying company whose speciality was the 'environmentally friendly' rapid drying of water based investment casting shells which resulted in me serving on the British Investment Casting Trade Association committee tasked to investigate the impact of the then impending Environmental Protection Act on the industry.Following the decline of the aerospace market in the early 1990's and the continued decline of the traditional ceramics industries attention was switched to the curing of synthetic materials and the drying of hazardous (explosive) materials.
