Piloted the provisioning of the TPM with digital certificates in the manufacturing process of self service terminals in Shanghai, China. Project manager, technical lead, and system architect for a two-factor authentication architecture allowing authorized service technicians access to ATMs owned and managed by disparate financial institutions. Project Design Architect responsible for software and system security on self service terminals. Technical lead for analyzing, designing, and implementing a security architecture to prevent unauthorized access to the Windows XP environment on the ATM as well as the bank network into which the ATM is installed. Took part in presale technical support for potential global customer engagements. Designed and built a very early mobile device interface to an ATM utilizing a Palm Pilot and Handspring Visor. Built the first pre-staged withdrawal transaction on an ATM on the mobile device, with communication to the ATM over Bluetooth. Demonstrated the transaction at the CeBit show in 2001. Managed OEM releases of the Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 OS on behalf of the company.Took part on an international architecture team to design and implement a new object-oriented component based architecture for self-service terminal applications from the ground up using documented design patterns and the Unified Modeling Process (UML). Trained and mentored international associates in object oriented programming, Microsoft technologies such as COM, DCOM, ActiveX and .NET, and software systems design. Provided technical support for self service terminals and demonstrated an application using the new architecture at international trade shows.

Designed and implemented an open architecture for software component event notification using the publisher/subscriber software pattern. This incuded support for subscriber objects packaged in SOM, COM, and native C++. Designed and implemented a SOM/COM/DCOM/C++ “object factory” that was used to create complex COM, SOM, and C++ objects configured at runtime via an embedded database.
