About Bob Monroe
Twenty-two years working in one of the most adaptive occupations in the world, flying helicopters for the U.S. Army. I spent my spare time learning computer security, hacking, network security, intrusion detection, risk management, vulnerability assessments, cyber laws, cryptology, and that the biggest security risk is the human being. I began learning hacking in 1989 and haven't looked back since. Currently volunteering for the Institute for Security and Open Methodologies (ISECOM.org), and Hacker High School (hackerhighschool.org) as a researcher, instructor and writer. I work with Hackin9 and Eforensic magazines as an editor and writer. I have worked with Fred Cohen Ph.D on microcomputer projects. I also with with Microsoft Press, Cisco Press, VMware, Pearson Publications and Norse Publishing. Lots of writing; Plenty of research. My goals are to learn more and live more.Specialties: IoT Security, Information Warfare (Offensive Operations), Certified Risk Management Instructor, Human Behavior in Information Security, Cyber Crime Laws, Information Security Framework and Data Security, Digital Forensics, Vulnerability Assessments, Microcomputers and a whole range of Information Security topics.

I represent the Institute for Security and Open Methodologies (ISECOM.org) and Hacker Highschool (hackerhighschool.org) for the West Coast of the US. I am researching, writing, and instructing others in order to generally help out where needed in the digital security world. I present lectures and classes at various events such as RSA in San Francisco, TechNet in Hawaii, NICE in Virginia, Shakacon in Hawaii, the University of Hawaii, ISSA in Hawaii and several other venues. I have been conducting extensive research on microcomputers (Raspberry Pi, Beagle Bone Board, DragonBoard 410 and similar devices) for security implications and communication challenges. I am a distinguished graduate student for a Master of Science in Information Assurance from Norwich University. This was an interesting degree program because it required extensive real-world experience (luckily I had plenty of that) as well as teamwork with our classmates. I still keep in contact with many of my fellow classmates due to our shared expertise in different areas and friendship. I also kept all of my coursework that I still return to for help with some recent research projects.
